The Jungle. This was once an old clock. It stood about 4 Ft. high. We ripped the guts out, caulked the holes and throughout the years it has been planted. This is the newest incarnation. Periodically the plants use up all the dirt and the nutrition in the dirt and usually when that happens I separate the plants into other pots and start over with starter plants. This time, when I decided to plant it after about 15 years of not using it all I had were broadleaf plants and a couple of different plants. It obviously wasn't a time of year when the seedlings are in around this small town, I couldn't find very many so I used what I had from some accent plants growing in a few pots that the orchids had died. It gets too hot here to keep orchids alive, no A/C in the house.

Of course, when you grow a jungle the wildlife starts showing up. Three of them have taken up residence in the planter. They either stand around or lay around.

I have been trying to photograph the Roadrunner for about a year now. First I was using a Galaxy S-4 but the camera didn't photograph at distance well. So I went out and bought a Canon PowerShot camera, 50X zoom. It is a lot harder than you would think to capture a moving object at zoom. My phone died just as the Galaxy S-9+ came out and I decided just for once I would get the latest and greatest phone. It was worth it.

It has been my opinion that RRs don't pose. Well, they do under certain conditions. They don't pose when they see a human, but a human in a vehicle....

I had no idea how to use the camera yet, ended up shooting the pics out of the car window. The ball of light in the first pic is the flash (which was totally unnecessary) going off and reflecting off the car window. I would also like to take credit for the last picture, which is truly unexpected and amazing, but I was just desperately trying to get a last picture of a bird on a fence with a camera I had no idea how to use and well there it is.
